Beef is American history. From the railroad to the cattle drives, it is part of what made America, which is why beef should be treated with respect. We do just that - from 6 weeks old to butcher, we raise each steer on our farm for almost two years. As with many things in life, taking the time to do it right provides the best results - something we apply to how we raise our beef. We aren't in a rush for our animals to hit market weight. We want each animal to grow at a natural pace and produce excellent beef.
We do not use hormones or any other unnatural growth promoters. We do not place our steers in feedlots. Our steers are moved regularly through pastures, providing fresh forage regularly. We provide regular resting periods to each pasture to ensure they remain in top grazing conditions and parasite free. We do not supplement feed or water with antibiotics.
Throughout spring, summer and fall, our cattle's diet is grass. They are fed hay over winter and are supplemented with non-medicated grain. After growing for well over a year, our steers begin their 90 day finishing stage. Our animals do not finish in a feedlot or any kind of confined space. They remain on pasture and enjoy the primary source of their diet while being fed rations of grain to produce excellent marbling.
We love our beef and know you will too.
How much meat do I get?
Depending on cut choices, your finished beef will be between 420 and 450 LBS for a whole and 210 - 225 LBS for a half.
How much freezer space do I need?
Roughly 16-17 cubic feet for a whole, and 8-9 cubic feet for a half.
Can I choose my cuts?
CottonStone Farms and our partnered butchers offer a wide selection of custom cuts. Before your butcher date, you will be emailed an easy and informative cut choice form that allows you to customize your finished beef. Once your answers are submitted we will work directly with our butcherers to ensure your choices are met in full.
How do I get my finished meat?
CottonStone Farms will deliver it directly to your doorstep or will coordinate a meeting location that is convenient for you.
What is the payment process?
While we keep our beef affordable, we also understand that grocery budgets are tight and a whole or half beef is more of a substantial up front cost than buying single cuts at a time at your grocery store. To make the financial side less burdensome, we offer 3 convenient payment plans. Check them out below.
